Introduction

“Let’s Go” is an AI-powered travel platform that creates personalized itineraries based on users’ preferences and concerns. With features like an editable plan, interactive map, and AI-driven suggestions, it offers a seamless, user-friendly experience on both app and website, empowering users to control their travel plans while enjoying tailored recommendations.

Making Chatbots User-Friendly

Incorporated recommended interests imagery into the AI chatbox to streamline navigation and create a seamless, all-in-one experience.

Make AI chatbots more user-friendly by ensuring that communication is faster and easier.

Approach

In the discovery phase, we found that current AI chatbots are often not user-friendly, relying on basic chat interactions. We divided the AI interaction, along with an interactive map, into three parts and combined them into a single page after conducting three usability tests. The AI process now includes:

  • Trip Details: Collecting information about the user’s trip.
  • User Interests: Displaying interests with images based on responses.
  • Personalized Concerns: Allowing users to address concerns for a more tailored plan.

Enabled users to modify the draft plan, offering greater control over the planning process with an interactive map that displays relative time and location

Challenge

Empower users by giving them control over their plans and adding a personal touch to ensure a truly personalized itinerary.

Approach

Our research highlights the importance of balancing AI with user control. Users want to maintain control over their planning process. To address this, we’ve designed the system to allow users to review and adjust their plans at every step while still receiving assistance from AI.

  • Adding the ability to reorder activities to adjust the plan.
